PLANNING APPLICATION FOR LAND ADJACENT TO OSIERS
Following earlier refusals the land owner then submitted an application to remove the log cabins and build two 4 bed houses on the site. The Parish Meeting gave a neutral reponse citing concerns about potential overlooking of neighbouring properties, potential danger exiting the site onto the A143 and possible impact of loss of tourist accommodation. The meeting did however note that the area no longer had a rural feel due to the road network, development at Alverstones and the BP garage. The Council refused permission and the applicant has now submitted an appeal to the Secretary of State.

Diss and District Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group
At the Stuston Village Meeting held on 9th November 2016 David Burn gave an address outlining the key features of the Diss development plan. Even though the development plan is Norfolk based, local Suffolk villages and communities have been asked to be involved. Subject to some more details of how it will be governed, and provided that there would not be a cost impact to Stuston, the village agreed in principle by majority vote for Stuston to be included in the development plan. Following further meetings with the D&D steering group, Stuston have formally joined the Diss development planning committee, and will participate in the development planning meetings when a representative is available. Two representative from Stuston village will be selected at the next Village meeting to represent Stuston at all subsequent D & D Neighbourhood planning meetings. Full details of the neighbourhood development plan can be found through the link below.
At the next Village meeting (planned for 4th October 2017) our chairman will give feedback from the recent Diss development planning meetings. The links below will take you to the we sites with information on the Norfolk and Suffolk neighbourhood development plans. Also refer to the Government white paper on the left side of this page.
